S. E. Johnson Management Ltd. employs a full time Safety Coordinator. The roll of this position is to oversee the safety program, inspections, investigations, training compliance, orientations, safety audits, statistics, pre-qualification, COR certification, ISN compliance and ensuring compliance with legislative bodies both provincial and federal.
While fulfilling this commitment to protect both people and property, S. E. Johnson Management Ltd. will provide and maintain a safe and healthy work environment in accordance with industry standards and in compliance with legislative requirements. We will strive to eliminate any foreseeable hazards which may result in property damage, incidents, personal injury or illness.
Accidental loss can be controlled through good management and communication in combination with active employee involvement. Our safety manual along with all other forms and resource materials are available for all employees through our SiteDocs program. This is our paperless/electronic safety documentation program that allows everyone, company wide, to have access to all forms and documents related to safety and quality control. We believe that good communication and for everyone to be involved and feeling part of the safety program is the key. All employees, including upper management, office staff and field employees are invaluable, and their feedback is what makes our safety program dynamic and successful. We aim to have a positive safety culture throughout the company.
Training and education are an important part of our safety culture. We ensure that all new hires are trained in their respective positions. They are vetted and all training is verified to make sure we are compliant with all legislative requirements. The new employee attends an orientation at the time of hire with the safety coordinator. This is where we introduce our safety program, SiteDocs and invite them to be part of our team and let them know how important safety is in our company, including a review of our company history and the commitment that our President has in our safety culture. We are always trying to make our safety program better, and to this end our safety culture and communication keeps our program dynamic and moving in a positive direction.
